Set up steps_rawdata
Below are the options for tracking your daily total step count. Each option comes with a description on how this method works, who it would work well for and any requirements.

Log daily steps manually
- Best for people with Android phones or iPhones (non IOS 13) -

At the end of the day a Google form will ask how many steps you took that day and track it in a Google sheet
​
Requirements:

Any device that has an internet browser

Any device that can track total step count

Log iPhone/Apple watch steps (IOS Shortcut)
- Best for people with iPhones running IOS 13 -

A shortcut when clicked will log the total number of steps recorded in the Apple Health app track it in a Google sheet

Google Fit automatically log steps
- Best for those with Android phones that can track steps -

Everyday your total amount of steps tracked by your phone will be logged in a Google sheet
Requirements

Android phone that can track steps either through an app or inbuilt into the device

Withings Watch
- For users that have a Withings watch -
​
Everyday after syncing your watch your total amount of steps taken will be logged in a Google sheet

Google Assistant (Google Home)
- Best for people who own a Google Home or Google assistant enabled phone and want to use their voice to log their daily steps-

Users can say "I took x steps today" to a Google Home and their daily steps will be tracked in a Google sheet.
